Skiing on Liquid Snow

Waterskiing Update

Hello all,

It's been a great summer, and there are three big items that I wanted to share:

1.) Our club is now the proud owner of a portable slalom course. After over a year of working with the Coast Guard to gain permission for a permanent installation, the final word is that there are no regulations that they have to govern said course. Therefore, it is an employ-at-your-own-risk status on the coastal waterways. We have already set it up on the Chickahominy this summer and plan to do so again/repeatedly. It would likely be a bad idea to leave it up overnight. Therefore, I only plan to set it up on WEEKDAYs that folks are interested in skiing. Please let me know if you have interest.

2.) Beaver Lake (in Eure, North Carolina) is holding a three event tournament on Aug 28-29. This would be a great "day-trip" for PSC members. They usually do slalom and jumping on Saturday. It's a great place to hang-out and make connections with skiers. Spectators are also encouraged to see what a competition looks like.

3.) A group of us are skiing the upper Chickahominy on Friday evenings provided the weather/work permits. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know.
